To get 40 to 80% off prestige, professional and drugstore L'Oreal beauty brands that have been discontinued, time was you'd have to luck into an invitation to an in-person warehouse shopping event held once or twice a year. You'd brave lineups and an eager crowd to get hands on deeply discontinued beauty and personal care items and/or gift sets from brands such as Yves Saint-Laurent Beauté, Kerastase, CeraVe, Redken, L'Oreal Paris and more.
Those shopping events may still happen in Canada and the USA, but geography and continuing pandemic elements – well, not everyone has access. In Canada, though, thank goodness for online access via The Beauty Outlet by L'Oreal Canada, aka lorealbeautyoutlet.ca.
Launched in 2020, lorealbeautyoutlet.ca is the virtual version of the real-world bi-annual outlet sales L'Oreal Canada has held in Montreal, Quebec and Markham, Ontario over the last 20 years.
But I know what you really want to know: what brands appear on the site.
You probably don't need this reminder, but just in case: remaindered stock is limited, so once it's gone, it's gone, and not every brand listed will have discontinued items at the same time. The following is the list of L'Oreal Beauty Outlet featured brands as of January 2023:
LUXURY L'OREAL BEAUTY OUTLET BRANDS
- ATELIER COLOGNE
- IT COSMETICS
- MAISON MARGIELA
- RALPH LAUREN
- SHU UEMURA
- URBAN DECAY
- VIKTOR & ROLF
- YVES SAINT-LAURENT

WHAT TO BUY FROM LOREALBEAUTYOUTLET.CA
Obvi stock is unpredictable, dependent on what's been discontinued or repackaged. Also obvious: if something you love shows up, grab it because sadly it means it won't be around much longer. (Looking at you, Vichy Neovadiol Compensating Complex. 🥺) Other than that, what do you need? What do you feel like trying? (I know, Captain Obvious!) L'Oreal is an icon in the beauty and personal care industry; your only danger in buying from lorealbeautyoutlet.ca is falling hard for something you won't be able to re-purchase in future.
As for me, I love a post-season gift set (at the moment, La Roche Posay and Biotherm both have options that would make great birthday gifts) and I'm all about the fancy lip colour at UH-MAAAAZING prices. Some suggestions based on current stock:
I have a weakness for lip colour, so no surprise I'm transfixed with YSL lipsticks that regularly bruise the wallet at $50 CAD coming in at a much less painful $15 – or less. Case in point: this YSL Rouge Pur Couture Lipstick in #52 Rouge Rose (
$50 $15 CAD at lorealbeautyoutlet.ca*). Tip: fancy lipstick makes a great birthday or Mother's Day gift. 😉
Not gonna lie: I have serious grabby hands for this L'Oreal Paris Color Riche Lipstick in Intense Fuchsia (
$12 $3.90 CAD at lorealbeautyoutlet.ca*), too. That shade! (I googled to see IRL photos; hence the grabby hands. Serious grabby hands.)
If you buy skincare for the men in your life, you might want to consider this Biotherm Homme Aquapower Dry Skin Set (
$40 $20 CAD at lorealbeautyoutlet.ca*) that includes shower gel, essence and moisturizer.
L'Oréal Professionnel Serie Expert Silver Shampoo (
$55.03 $33.02 CAD at lorealbeautyoutlet.ca*) is a no-brainer grab for grey or white hair – and the 980mL professional size will last for ages.
Matrix Total Results Color Obsessed Shampoo and Conditioner (duo,
$38.54 $23.12 CAD at lorealbeautyoutlet.ca*) is still available via Amazon, albeit at higher prices than this set, so you can check reviews if you're not sure whether to give them a go.
Vichy's Neovadiol line for experienced skin has been rejigged; as a result, Vichy Neovadiol Compensating Complex (
$59.95 $29.97 CAD at lorealbeautyoutlet.ca*), one of my favourite gel cream moisturizers for my 54-year-old dehydrated (with a side of dry) skin, has been discontinued. 😢 I'm tempted to stock up because THAT PRICE, and I love it, but I've got a jar already in play, plus new things on deck, and I don't want to end up wasting stuff by keeping it too long past expiration. (Maybe just leave one for me, though, okay? The struggle NOT to stock up is real!)
Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb Dew eau de parfum (
$105 $63 CAD at lorealbeautyoutlet.ca) is still floating around the worldwide web for regular price; if you love this fragrance or know someone else who does, you're welcome.
What? Told you I have a weakness for lip colour. In fact, I loved these when they came out; there's a possibility this YSL Glossy Stain in #9 Rouge Laque (
$49 $14.70 CAD at lorealbeautyoutlet.ca*) might find its way back into my stash.
