Charlotte Tilbury is launching a new Hot Lips range of lipsticks this month, a sequel to the 12-shade Hot Lips collection she launched back in 2016. That first collection paid homage to some of her favourite celebrity friends and clients. Hot Lips 2 features 11 lipsticks in total, all inspired by Very High Profile People that Charlotte considers iconic, but we can't tell you exactly who they are until June 18th. (Note: this post has been updated with shade names at the end of the text.)
Packaging for the new collection is considerably different from that of the first range, in appearance as well as in relation to the planet: the Hot Lips 2 collectible lipstick cases – five in total – are refillable. When purchased, each case comes with a designated shade. When comes time to refill, you can select any colour bullet from the collection to replace the original. Each Hot Lips 2 Lipstick in a case is $43 CAD/ $37 USD; refills will be $29 CAD/ $25 USD.
The Hot Lips 2 lipstick cases in the photo are, from left to right: The Magic Infinity Starburst, The Timeless Leopard (available in red and in rose gold), The Power of the Universe, and The Magic Panther. They look as though they're made of metal, but I'm checking on that. I think the lipstick cases are made from a durable plastic with a metal-like finish, probably the same material that comprises the CT fluted lipstick tubes. These in particular feel satisfyingly weighty, expensive. And the lids, although they aren't magnetized, snick nicely into place when you close the lipstick.
About the suits-everyone Hot Lips 2 lipstick colour palette, Charlotte says in the press sheet that her objective was "looking for gaps in the colour spectrum and mixing the most nuanced, super-flattering, super-wearable shades." (See slideshow below.)
As she did when she previewed the first Hot Lips lipsticks to the media, Charlotte has also announced a major charity contribution: her company has pledged £1 million to Women for Women International, a non-profit organization that helps train and empower women who live in regions of conflict or past conflict.
"Charlotte Tilbury's support has helped hundreds of women survivors of war graduate from our year-long training programme with tools and resources to move from crisis and poverty to stability and self-sufficiency," says Brita Fernandez Schmidt. She's the executive director and senior VP for Global Partnerships at Women for Women. "Our partnership has helped to inspire hope for the future for the women we serve, empowering them to become leaders and role models in their communities."
Charlotte herself was inspired to get involved with Women for Women International when she heard that for one woman, a bold red lipstick served as a source of confidence, power and strength in the face of harrowing circumstances. "A lipstick can change a life because if you can change how a woman feels, you can change a community, and you can change the world," Charlotte has said. Her promise of £1 million (approximately $1,683,480 CAD) is the largest corporate donation the organization has ever received.
Stay tuned for the shade names and the people who inspired them; we'll update this post on June 18th. In the meantime, have a look at the slideshow below for preview snaps of the Hot Lips 2 lipstick shades.
What do you think of the packaging? Re: The Timeless Leopard case, are you Team Red or Team Rose Gold?
And in the press-preview snapshots, the shade colours might be a little off, but what do you think so far? (I'm wearing one in this post.)

UPDATE: I've listed the shade names and celebrity inspiration below. However, adding lip swatches and reviews of the shades I've got would have make this post waaay too long. So here's a link to the new write-up on the Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips 2 shades featured in the opening image!
Enigmatic Edward, a "hydrating clear lipstick," is inspired by British Vogue editor in chief Edward Enninful
Angel Alessandra, a "sunset, peachy nude," is a nod to Victoria Secret model Alessandra Ambrosio (Beautygeeks once interviewed Alessandra in a helicopter!)
J.K. Magic, a "peachy nude-rose," is in honour of author J.K. Rowling. (Charlotte says J.K. is already a fan of Bitch Perfect and Pillow Talk; apparently this is a "magic peaches and cream sister" to those shades.)
In Love With Olivia, a "luscious pretty-in-pink," is linked to fashion plate Olivia Palermo.
Dancefloor Princess, a "cool, '60s-pop pink," celebrates pop star Kylie Minogue (I'll forever love Can't Get You Out Of My Head; so pleased I have this one!)
Glowing Jen, a "tawny beachy rose," is obviously all about Jennifer Aniston
Carina's Star, a "modern peach soft coral," is for Hong Kong actress/singer Carina Lau
Viva La Vergara, a "soft wine," is, of course, a bow to actress Sofia Vergara
Amazing Amal, an "elegant soft berry pink," captures the classic, chic style of Amal Clooney
Patsy Red, a gorgeous, glamorous, cool "statement red," is a loving homage to Charlotte's mum Patsy
Red Hot Susan, a "wearable, accessible tawny-orange red," is a tribute to actress Susan Sarandon
