Oh hey, everybody! Look at this! It's the Essie Fall 2018 Collection Swatch & Review post! From my construction zone!
And what a struggle it’s been for me to bring this to your side of the screen. If you’ve been creeping around wondering where I’ve been, I’ve been without an office for about a month now. There’s good news though – my new walls went up yesterday and today, there’s mud and plaster and, hopefully soon, dust. I know, right? Who can possibly be excited about dust? This girl. Why? Because it means the end is nearer than it was last month. Yay!
So yeah, this post looks a little different. I’m not sitting in my desk chair and I’m not even at my desk. I’m in the kitchen, I’ve had the requisite 2 pints of coffee and I don’t know what day it is. All I know is that by now, the embargo on Essie Fall 2018 has surely lifted so I can show it to you in all of its Autumn glory!
Essie It Takes a West Village – Essie Fall 2018 (above). If you were unaware, I’m here to tell you that this Fall-tastic collection comes equipped with the Yessie brush (that's the official Manigeek name for it) for super speedy paint application. I know! I’m just full of great news, huh? We’re talkin’ about that rounded edge paddle brush (the one Europe has had forever) that means I require far fewer strokes to cover my real estate. I’ve been waiting for this brush for a long time. Now that it’s here, I don’t think I could be any happier.
Essie Stop, Drop & Shop – Essie Fall 2018 (above). Along with the Yessie brush, the formulas seem to be a little less plasticized. They’re smooth and glide on without any tacky sort of business, streaking, or gloop. It’s just a happy, happy pairing of brush and formula. It makes Manigeek smile big.
Essie Say It Ain't Soho – Essie Fall 2018 (above). Oh! Hahaha! I just realized I haven’t said anything about coats and level and such! It’s all swell. Some of these you can do in one coat, but then you don’t get to the bottle shade. You’ll get a lighter, brighter, more vibrant (and less dusty) result. If you’re buying because you like what it looks like in da bottle, do two coats, k? You’ll see what I mean once you start painting.
Essie Fall For NYC – Essie Fall 2018 (above). And top coat? Ppfft. I didn’t use no top coat. These things are all kinds of shiny and lovely straight out of the bottles. You’ll need top though – it just makes it look better and last longer.
Essie Empire Shade of Mind – Essie Fall 2018 (above).Except for Empire Shade of Mind (to me that’s somewhat Holiday), they all hit the Autumn mark exceptionally well. While a couple of these are somewhat been-there-done-that, there are a couple more that 100% give me the #GrabbyHands. I know if they’re doin’ that to me, then they’re for sure doin’ that to you.
Essie Booties on Broadway – Essie Fall 2018 (above). If these have already snuck onto your Wish List, do yourself a favour and nudge ‘em onto your Buy List, stat. With the new brush and the fab formulas, you’ll be smiling yourself all the way to winter. I swearsies.
Essie Shine of the Times over Booties on Broadway (above). Now, because working in my kitchen isn’t nearly as fun as it sounds, here, have some pictures of some things that came from the Essie Fall 2018 press release.
Now let’s talk! We can talk about whatever you want! New brush? Fall shade excitement? Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheerios? Okay! Chat time!
