Oh hey there, friends! It is Crayola, Sally Hansen and me!
A couple weeks ago, I was wandering the polish aisle at my local Shoppers and I saw the cutest little display of these limited-edition Sally Hansen x Crayola pastel shades. I snapped a photo and when I got home, I wandered the interwebz in search of more information.
I tell ya what, there isn’t much info out there, so I went back ‘n bought ‘em all. I thought they’d ring up at the flyer sale price of $4.99, but apparently these are excluded from the sale. They rang up at $7.49 each. Ouch.
The 6 shades are pretty and seasonably springy (especially when all lined up together as a pastel collection), but there’s been no word of this collection and not a single image of them has appeared on the Sally H Canada Instagram. It’s almost like they don’t exist.
Here in Canada, the re-jig of the Insta-Dri line was done very, very quietly. There were huge changes made – new screen printing on the bottles, more chip-resistant formulas, new shades, and a little more quality control on the brushes. And for all of that, not a peep in my inbox from Sally Hansen Canada. Weird, right? It’s like they want it to be a secret or sumthin’. Ppfft. You can’t keep nail polish secrets from me!
Because I do crazy-thin coats, all of these sweet pastels took me 2 coats to get perfectly opaque. For shades that have this much white in ‘em, surprisingly they’re not chalky, the level is spectacular, and the shine is swell – especially given that I totally skipped the top coat.
Are the colours groundbreaking? Not for me because, well.. yeah, I’m Manigeek. For you though, if you don’t have a whack of good Spring pastels, this adorable little Sally Hansen x Crayola Spring Fling pastels collection (I think that’s what it’s called) might be exactly whatcha need. I’m a fan.
I don’t know how long these will be around for, but I do know (from the cardboard display) that they’re limited editions. If you’re lucky, you can maybe still find ‘em at your local Shoppers. In the USA, you can find them at walmart.com.
Happy Sally Hansen x Crayola shoppin’, everybody!
