So it looks like I was out of my mind when I thought maybe the Essie Desert Mirage collection was replacing the Essie Resort 2018 Collection, huh? Yep, totally off.
I don’t know how, but I forgot I was making toast. While I go get it, here, please enjoy…
essie resort 2018 swatches & review
Essie Join the Club – Essie Resort 2018 (above). Wow, that was a hard blue to get colour-correct! She’s lovely though, even if she dries down a bit darker than the bottle. That’s 2 coats for maximum saturation and here’s the really weird thing – I don’t have a 100% dupeta-stick for it. What does that mean? It means that in all my 1000000’s of sticks, I don’t have a perfect match. I know, right? Amazing!
Essie I’ll Have Another – Essie Resort 2018 (above). I loves me some greys and this one is no different. On the first go, the formula and I didn’t get along so well but on the second try, 2 coats got me closer to a perfect application. Then I was just sittin’ here and my eyeballz went left…
Girly Bits Hocus Pocus over Essie I’ll Have Another (above). So that happened. I should maybe point out that I shot that using my garbage desk lamp. Artificial light changes the look of the grey but that’s the only way to show you the magic of Hocus Pocus. If you don’t have a bottle of Hocus Pocus, you should really get one. I mean it.
Essie First Class Fling – Essie Resort 2018 (above). 2 coats to a hugely unoriginal Essie poppy red. Zzzz….
Essence Glamaxy over Essie First Class Fling (above). I was so bored with the poppy red that I went on the hunt for my bottle of Essie Shine of the Times. Guess what! I couldn’t find it and nearly lost mah mind! Apparently, I lend out precious things so other people get a chance to try them – then I forget I lent them out. (Hey JJ, gimme back my precious!!!) Anyhow, Glamaxy is the closest thing I have to Shine of the Times (because I also gave away my bottle of Fresh Paint Sugar Crush) so that’s what I used. You get the idea, yes? Kinda great.
Essie Attendant To My Needs – Essie Resort 2018 (above). Then this. 2 coats to another pretty, vibrant, shiny snoozefest. If you’ve been around the polish block once or twice, odds are good you’ve got something hugely similar in your collection already.
Essie Pure Pearlfection over Attendant To My Needs (above). And if you’ve been around the Essie block as many times as I have, you might still have a well-loved bottle of this stuff lying around. Mine is ½ empty – yours?
Resort this year is all about the first class flight to the destination and I have things to say about the Mile High Club Shade Story, but I’m gonna keep my mouf shut. Instead, let’s talk about this 4-shade collection and how it strikes us! You know I’m always curious to hear what ya’ll have to say!
