Weekend Away Beauty – when only minutes to pack

The Lipstick League wants to know: If you were leaving on a spontaneous weekend getaway and had only 15 minutes to get everything together, what are the first few beauty items you'd throw into your bag?

Hah! I have a bunch of TSA bags full of mini products for just such occasions! Well, not that I ever have spontaneous weekend getaways, but I do travel for work, and I never empty my TSA baggies when I get home. Thus they're always pretty much ready for me to snatch up and pack on the fly. As for my makeup, I keep everything I'm using in one case that is often in my purse, so that's easy to pack too.

But I'll play along. I tend to grab things in an order-of-operations fashion so I minimize the risk of forgetting something crucial. (My friend's young daughter calls me Dorrie because I'm a bit forgetful.)

First would be cleanser, some kind of micellar of course – Garnier, Vichy or Klorane because that's what I have on hand right now – and a ziploc of Shiseido Facial Cotton. Next: a thermal spray water, such as Avène, La Roche-Posay or Vichy, whatever's within grabbing distance. Then a serum or two – Skinceuticals HA Intensifier and Murad Hydro-Dynamic Quenching Essence this time. And  Vitamin C serum – Deciem Hylamide Booster C25 for now.

Oh, moisturizer: Murad Hydro-Dynamic Ultimate Moisture Cream and La Roche-Posay Cicaplast because I try never to leave home without it. And sunscreen, natch.

My lip balm – right now it's Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream; it's become my most favourite – is always in my purse, so I don't think it counts as a grab.

Then there's my makeup: Charlotte Tilbury Instant Beauty Glow Palette, Amatarasu Brow Pen, Lancôme Grandiôse Mascara, Maybelline Dream Brightening Creamy Concealer and Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Skin Perfecting Micro Powder...

Okay, I'll stop now. That's the first few – although perhaps I've stretched the limit of few by quite a bit. *grin*
