I rather suspect the Yves Saint Laurent Chinese New Year 2017 limited-edition Rouge Volupté palette is already sold out because I can't seem to find it anywhere online for purchase. I should have been thinking of the coming Year of the Rooster a bit earlier, I suppose. #oops
So until I hear otherwise, we'll just look at the photos and admire.
The YSL Chinese New Year 2017 collector compact ($68 CAD) has red tassels! On a gorgeous gold finish – YSL is so good at covetable and collectable packaging. And of course the palette's outer gold and red is all about luck and prosperity for the coming year.
The interior of the limited-edition compact is this Rouge Volupté powder blush in shimmery peach with a square of golden peach in the centre to serve as highlighter. I love peach as blush; so flattering on so many skin tones.
The accompanying YSL Chinese New Year 2017 makeup consists of the following: Vinyl Cream Lip Stain in 401 ($42 CAD at thebay.com and $36 USD at nordstrom.com), Touche Eclat Highlighter ($50 CAD at thebay.com and $42 USD at nordstrom.com), Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils ($37 CAD at thebay.com and $32 USD at nordstrom.com), and Rouge Volupté Shine in 46 ($40 CAD at thebay.com and $37 USD at nordstrom.com).
As I mentioned yesterday, although Mum is Chinese, our family's not really about the customs associated with Chinese New Year. It does involve a fair amount of spending, it seems – new makeup and new clothes are part of inviting good fortune for the rest of the year.
Has any of you lovelies already picked this beauty up? For luck? *grin*
