I once faked-cried at customs over a nearly empty 125mL bottle of Bioderma Sensibio cleansing water. My poor friend Janice looked on in alarm, worried that my resistance in an early-morning Pearson customs lineup might get me kicked off the flight (we were heading off on a much-needed sunny Domincan-Republic vacation).
Lucky for us both, no-one attempted to prevent me from getting on the flight (c'mon, I was upset, but not that obnoxious). But boy I was peeved at the so-close size of the Bioderma bottle that clearly pre-dated the TSA carry-on regulations for liquids.
This summer, though, Bioderma finally released proper TSA-approved 100 mL travel sizes of their beloved Sensibio, Hydrabio and Sébium micellar solutions! I did a happy dance with some jumpy claps and promptly threw my bottles into my luggage before heading to St. Maarten.
Yes, yes, I know I can decant, but I have a few issues with having to do that, of course. I forget to label things and then can't remember which is cleanser and which is toner (sniffing the contents doesn't help), or I DO label and the label comes off, or.... Look. It's just way easier to pick up a 100mL bottle or tube of favourite skincare stuff and refill when it's empty. (Okay, so I can't refill a tube of Indeed Labs Hydraluron. But it's so good and such a convenient size and price – about $25 CAd – that I don't mind purchasing a new one.)
On an overnight trip for a Vichy project I'll reveal soon (really good stuff, I promise you!), the brand kindly sent me some products to use during my hotel stay at the Sofitel Montreal. I geeked out most about the 100 mL Vichy Pureté Thermale 3-in-1 One Step Cleansing Micellar Solution.
But dang-it! Vichy then made me sad because it turns out the brand doesn't sell this smart-size micellar water! It's for promo purposes only! To that I say this:
Dear Vichy: Please make this 100mL size readily available to consumers. It's just what we need for happy travelling. And besides, you already have the bottles... xoxo
Where are you at re: travel sizes? Are you a decanting Queen, or do you prefer 100mL brand-offered sizes you can pick up as needed and refill whenever?
