Make Up For Ever Pro Sculpting Duo

Make Up For Ever Pro Sculpting Duo -- I thought it was a highlight + bronzer when I first saw it. Hence the mistake I'll explain below...

I'm just about to try this new Make Up For Ever Pro Sculpting Duo ($45 at and $39 at in place of my usual bronzer and second answer to this week's Lipstick League question: Which colour cosmetic do you love to wear year-round, regardless of the season?

Fuchsia lipstick was my instinctive first response until I realized there's something more important in my kit. I wear bronzer pretty much every time I throw on my face, no matter the time of year. I use it in a subtle sculpting fashion to give dimension to my bone structure rather than look sunkissed. Here's the key: my "bronzer" is actually a velvety face powder (Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow) only one shade darker than my skintone, and I always use some kind of highlighter to boost contrast slightly. No Kardashian Kontouring for me, thank you. And no-one ever compliments me on my sculpting technique. Instead they say nice things like "you have such great, glowy skin." And I say, "thank you -- it's makeup." Doh!

I realize that because my "bronzer" is face powder it really doesn't fall into the "colour cosmetics" category. And although I thought the Make Up For Ever Pro Sculpting Duo was highlight + bronzer when I first saw it, technically it isn't, so it's not a colour cosmetic either. Sheesh.

So, fuchsia lipstick.
