Have you seen Meghan Trainor's Lips are Movin' video? Then you've seen some signature Yazbukey. The graphic red lips that loom large in the first 10 seconds of the clip, as well as the lippie earrings Trainor wears in some of the scenes -- those are Yazbukey.
Those instantly recognizeable lips (once you've seen Meghan Trainor's video, you never forget them) are splashed all over the Yazbukey for Shu Uemura collection's packaging, from cleansing oil to false lashes to lipstick to nail polish to powder compacts to the eyeshadow palette. Those mesmerizing graphic eyes are Yazbukey's work, too, obvi.
A fantastical combination of pop culture, fashion, beauty and art, Yazbukey is the brainchild of jewelry and accessories designer Yaz Bukey. I covet her lipsticks necklace, and her in-your-face clutches emblazoned with her distinctive art. Right now, Bukey is clearly having a blast with this Shu Uemura collab -- check out her Yazbukey Instagram feed to see more, or search #yazforshu. And peruse the Yazbukey website for more statement pieces.
Shu Uemura has always taken a whimsical approach to their imagery. They're good at producing collectable compacts. You can archive their makeup, but you can use up what's inside first. So I can actually wear this gorgeous eyes-and-cheeks palette (maybe).
The Yazbukey for Shu Uemura collection includes four varieties of cleansing oil (from $82 CAN each), two UV Under Base mousse primers ($46 CAN each), a Dual Fit powder compact ($23 CAN for the case, $42 CAN for the powder), the "I Love My Shu Shu" eyeshadow palette ($99 CAN), false lashes ($35 CAN each), four shades of Rouge Unlimited Supreme Matte lipstick ($36 CAN each) and four shades of nail colour ($20 CAN each). The collection will be available at select Hudson's Bay, Sephora and Holt Renfrew locations in May. It's already available via shuuemura.ca.
Hey, why not enjoy the Yazbukey flavour of Meghan Trainor's video right now?
So whaddya think? Do you need any Yazbukey for Shu Uemura? I mean, how can one of these bright and irreverant items not cheer you up on a crappy day?
