It’s the cute new Formula X White Party Mini Set and I tell ya what, I absolutely love Formula X. They push the boundaries. They put stuff together in sets. They make polish fun, accessible, and really, really well. Seriously, move over everybody else, Formula X is comin’ thru.

A couple of these 3-Free shades are tricky and a couple are not-so-tricky but they all need a little finesse and a little love simply because they’re whites. If you’re precise and take your time with application, you’ll get the same results I did and then you’ll smile.
Formula X Dainty (above). This was the most difficult to apply – that’s three coats. The first coat, you’ll want to get your lines nice and even – it’s not going to be pretty. The second, you’ll want to even out the first. The third, you’ll need to get opaque coverage. Then you’re done. Add a top coat to boost your shiny and then smile at your dainty tips.
Formula X Dainty (above). Yeah, pretty, huh? Not my favourite ivory white ever on account of the three coats but still not as bad as most. I like the finish out of the bottle – it’s not crazy shiny but not satin matte either. Eggshell, maybe?
Formula X Blushing (above). Ooooh. Pretty. Also, much easier to manipulate than Dainty. That’s just two easy-peasy coats with no top coat. You should use top coat though because whites are notoriously chippy.
Formula X Blushing (above). Sephora calls this cotton-candy pink but really it’s a whitened peach. Either way, I still wannit.
Formula X Delightful (above). Unh. #GimmieThat. I almost got this stuff on as a OCW!!! (one coat wonder) but I failed. Use two coats, okay? First nice and thin to get your lines perfect and then a nice generous coat for the second.
Formula X Delightful (above). Seriously, what’s not to love about this shade, huh? She's a perfect whitened dove grey.
Formula X Precious (above). I don’t even have words to describe how I feel about this minty white. From looking at the cute mini bottle, I had no idea it was gonna be so smashing once out on the nail.
Formula X Precious (above). Again, the first coat will be streak-tastical but leave a little dry time then slap on a generous second coat. You’ll see. It’ll turn out great. Cap your free edges too – that’ll help with longevity.
I love this little collection and I can’t say enough about Formula X (even though those Press Pods were a big fat NO). They haven’t been around that long but in the time they have, I’m pretty sure they’re making the competition sit up and take notice. I've definitely noticed. They’re making great polish in great finishes with great shades and great appeal. And just wait until you see what Formula X Summer 2015 looks like. It’s pretty sweet too.
Formula X White Party ($27 at sephora.ca and $22.50 at sephora.com) is available now. I’m a fan. It’s true. In my estimation, Formula X is winning at everything right now. That means everybody else better step up their game.
