China Glaze makes some pretty outstanding polish. You probably knew that though, right? Know what else they do? They stop winter. Yep, you heard that right. Wanna see how?
The other day, on my quest to kill winter, I popped into my local Trade Secrets store. So many beautiful shades of pretty polish all sitting there waiting for me to bring ‘em home and assist in my endeavor! What ended up on my desk? Well…
Above: China Glaze Shocking Pink. Holy Batman it’s hard to shoot neons. Even harder in the dead of winter when there’s no sunlight. I tried though and here’s the first shot in somewhat bright, natural light. It almost doesn’t show neon at all. Wait for the second picture…
Above: Shocking Pink again. Take this picture and the first picture and smush ‘em together with your mind. Once you’ve achieved The Smush, that’s the colour. My camera can’t catch it so you must use all your brains to create the appropriate shade of neon.
Above: China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy. Peachy neon! It looks sorta washed out in this pic so wait for the second one…
Above: Flip Flop Fantasy again. See in the shadows there how it’s bright but not bright? Right along the line where the light hits it to where it falls into shadow is the way Flip Flop Fantasy looks most of the time. It’s beautiful ‘n happy. It’s summer in a bottle.
Above: China Glaze Frostbite. What can I say about this shimmery ocean blue that you can’t see from the photo? Nuthin’. I would like to go swimming with dolphins and also play on white sand beaches now.
Above: CG Luxe and Lush over Frostbite. If you take this lustery bottle of top coat and slap a layer of it over whatever you want, you get this pretty rainbowy flakie thing happening. Over pretty much anything, it comes out lookin’ interesting. I like interesting!

Those neons are totally goin’ commando. That’s right! No white undies! Amazeballz!
Also, there’s a spring Road Trip Collection offering from China Glaze too and my friend Jess at Polish Insomniac has your quick look at it with promises of swatches coming super-soon. I like Jess. She covers a lot of stuff I can’t get my grubby little hands on.
And here’s the best part for my fellow frozen Canadians:
Yep, this sale is happening in February here in Canada. In-store seems like a better deal to me so here's a handy Trade Secrets store-locator link. You gonna go shoppin’? (If you’re in the US, there’s always Ulta.com to fulfill all your polish needs).
For more info on China Glaze stuffs, head on over to ChinaGlaze.com and, if you'd like to have a quick look at other bright shades, come see our Ceramic Glaze swatches (they're one 'n the same, yo, but Ceramic Glaze is only available here in Canada at select Shoppers Drug Mart stores).
