Funky Fingers Solar Color is pretty sweet and also darned near impossible to get here in Canada. But if you can get your hands on it, you totally should!
funky fingers = color only better
So I have a polish BFF who lives south of the Canadian border in New York. She’s swell. She just sees stuff, decides I need it, and ships it. She’s fantastical. (Hi, Lisa!! *waving*).
Let’s have a look at a couple of the polish surprises she sent in the last box, okay?
above: funky fingers waverunner. Oh! Hallo perfect lilac! That’s two easy coats and the polish is wonderfully creamy and beautifully self-leveling. Pretty amazeballs for a polish that was $3 (or 2 for $5).
above: funky fingers waverunner. If I stick my hand out the window into the sunshine for about 20 seconds, this happens. The label on the top of the bottle is a clue!
above: funky fingers waverunner. If I leave my hand out there for 30 seconds, it gets a little darker.
above: funky fingers waverunner. And if I leave my hand in the bright sunshine for 40 seconds… Holy crap! A whole different color! How freakin’ cool is that? This one doesn’t hold the change for long – within a few seconds, it switches back to lilac.
above: funky fingers hang ten brah. That’s three nice thin, even coats. The formula is good – really good. And look at that awesomesauce shade of sunshine! I’d buy it just for that shade alone.
above: funky fingers hang ten brah. That’s the top label – guess what it means!
above: funky fingers hang ten brah. That’s the top label again – lookit what happened when I stuck my hand out the window!
above: funky fingers hang ten brah. Check it out! Orange!
above: funky fingers hang ten brah. Check it out! Even more orange! The stuff changes color when full spectrum UV light hits it. That means sunshine. My UV lamps don’t make it change (I know this b/c I tried it), but good old sunshine? Pow!!
I don’t have much else to say about this stuff except I really dig it. I wish I could get it here. If I could, I’d buy them all. But I can’t. If you’re in the US, Funky Fingers is sold exclusively at Five Below. The have a website but they don’t ship (booooo). The Solar Color shades are limited edition and will run you $3 per or 2 for $5. What a deal! What a steal!
Oh! By the way, you know who makes Funky Fingers Solar Color? Color Club. Okay, not Color Club but Forsythe Cosmetic Group Ltd. They’re responsible for Color Club, Fresh Paint, Funky Fingers, and I think Ruby Wing too. They’re my second favourite polish makers ever.
