When it comes to the red carpet right now, I'm only interested in the event's Lupita Nyong'o makeup moment. Part of the reason is Nick Barose, the artist behind the actress's striking makeup looks. Love how he plays with colour and shape and energy. And part is Lupita Nyong'o herself. She's having fun with fashion and fame, and she absolutely met expectation at last night's MTV Movie Awards.

Lupita made a playful splash in a colourful Chanel dress at the 2014 MTV Movie Awards. (Love the frames on the specs she wore on stage when she accepted her MTV Movie Award for Best On-Screen Transformation.) Makeup artist Nick Barose (see his A-list client list here) decided on a graphic, high-shimmer graphite eye, and used Lancome, of which Lupita is a new face. (Barose did her makeup for the official Lancome announcement photo, too). Click here for a story on how he first started working with Lupita at TIFF in Toronto.

I'm having brow envy. And Lupita has such a killer smile that an oral-care contract should be on her horizon. She makes me want to double sessions with my Philips Sonicare DiamondClean power toothbrush (um... 31,000 brushstrokes in one minute).
