This is different for Smashbox. It's a five-shade eye shadow palette in the Smashbox Santigold summer 2014 collection, a limited-edition collab with musician and artist Santigold (the theme song of the HBO series "Girls" is hers). Officially called The Santigolden Age by Santigold for Smashbox Cosmetics, the bold eye shadow palettes, shimmering gloss, nail stickers and serpent lipstick ring (hello) are steeped in Santi's playful artistic aesthetic.
smashbox santigold: otherworldly
Smashbox Santigold Eye Shadow Collage in Earth as We Know It ($42) Five wet-dry shadows -- kelly green, sparkling cream, dark matte blue, dark forest green sparkle, raisin with rosegold pearl shimmer.
Smashbox Santigold Eye Shadow Collage in Apocalypse Now ($42) Shimmery teal, pewter sparkle, matte black, oyster shimmer and bright golden orange shimmer. Also wet/dry shadow formulas.
Although the eye shadow palettes are clearly the standouts of the collection, the limited-edition Smashbox Santigold Be Legendary Lip Glosses are really pretty -- Hot Lava is that steamy-summer-days orange-red; Gold E'rything is a breezy sheer copper sparkle.
I rather covet these Smashbox Santigold Double-Ended Limitless Eye Liner pencils in Yellow Dwarf (bright mint green/soft gold) and Azurite is Never Wrong (soft gold/bright blue). That mint green and vivid blue scream hot weather, beaches and ice cream; I want to line just my lower lashlines with them (the liners). And yellow is an underrated shade -- it's stun.ning as lower-lashline liner as well as a sunny swipe of colour on the lids, like in this image.
UPDATE: I just read on Vogue.com that Santigold insisted the liners be double-ended because Smashbox restricted her to just two pencils -- "you can't really tell a story with two," she says. I love her for that.
I am, of course, all. about. this. serpent. pyramid. ring. I have a bit of a cocktail ring habit. This one fits best on the first finger of my left hand. That makes it about a size six, maybe a seven. And those beady little serpent eyes are tiny emerald green Swarovski crystals.
The Smashbox Santigold Be Legendary Lipstick Ring ($56) swings open to grant access to a limited-edition golden coral Be Legendary Lipstick shade called Still Kickin'.
The Santigolden Age by Santigold for Smashbox collection will be available on April 1 via Shoppers Drug Mart, Pharmaprix, Murale, Sephora and Smashbox.com. And Smashbox isn't Santigold's only recent collaboration -- she's also done a capsule collection of totally rad Santigold socks with Stance.

What do you think of the Smashbox Santigold collection? The serpent eye shadow palettes? And my new ring?
