Think back to your last really good make-out session with a boy you liked. Afterwards your lips felt all soft and tingly, right? Then there's the Bliss Pout-O-Matic, a new power lip-polishing gadget that looks like it should get lips into just-kissed shape fast. I like anything that has a brand promise that includes "o-matic" so keep that bias in mind.
the bliss pout-o-matic spin
The Bliss Pout-O-Matic ($62 at Sephora in February) is an exfoliation power tool for fixing flaky, un-sexy lips. It has a rubbery little nubby head that spins 500 times per minute. Designed to work with an enclosed scrub, it's supposed to polish the lips gently but a lot. The box includes a new battery and an extra buffing head, plus a protective cap for the head.
Once you get the battery in, you're halfway there.
I used a generous amount of the Bliss Fabulips Sugar Lip Scrub (it's has a vanilla icing scent) and away we went.
The Bliss Pout-O-Matic box instructions showed a drawing of lips gently closed and I think that's probably the right move. The AAA battery creates a lot of power in the unit's spinning head. You can really feel the pull on your lips if you try to use it with your mouth open. Of course, I was talking and I'm sure that's not recommended.
the bliss pout-o-matic verdict
The Bliss Pout-o-Matic lip-polishing tool left me with that "I kissed a boy" feeling, but I still had some remnants of yucky winter lips. At $62, I'd like the box to include some moisturising lip balm because I definitely needed it, stat, post-lip-exfoliation.
Kissing a boy for tingly, pouty lips is probably more fun, but this battery-operated power tool will do the job.
CRANK-O-METER BEAUTY RATING for the Bliss Pout-O-Matic power lip-polishing tool: 3.5 out of 5.
