MAC and Rihanna are getting along so well that the superstar has signed on as their 2014 Viva Glam spokesperson. The MAC Viva Glam Rihanna campaign officially starts in Canada and the US at the end of January. Images have been whipping around online for months; it's swatch time now.
mac viva glam rihanna: hot frost
The MAC Viva Glam Rihanna Lipstick and MAC Viva Glam Rihanna Lipgloss ($15 USd/$18 CDN each at maccosmetics.com) have brought a little hot frost into my makeup life. Usually I shun lipstick finishes that are anything but cream. But the MAC Viva Glam Rihanna Lipstick is a power blue-red shade with an unexpected warmth -- that frost has a hit of gold shimmer in the mix.
Surprisingly, I reach more often for the MAC Viva Glam Rihanna Lipglass, a sheer cool red with a trace of fine gold shimmer. The gloss looks luscious on lips, evocative of ripe strawberries + champagne perhaps. Actually, I'm allergic to strawberries, and technically to champagne too. If I weren't, though, and had to choose between strawberries + champagne and MAC Viva Glam Rihanna Lipglass, I'd choose the Lipglass. It's Viva Glam, after all.
Every bit of every sale of Viva Glam benefits people living with and affected by HIV/Aids. MAC Viva Glam Rihanna Lipstick and MAC Viva Glam Rihanna Lipglass will hit MAC locations on January 26th and international outlets as of February 13th.
Are you planning on picking up either the lipstick or gloss? Or both? Do you buy Viva Glam because it's Viva Glam?
