Staff is so confused. She's irked because although this looks like lipstick, it isn't, and it's not lip gloss either. It's liquid lipstick, really, a lip cream to be precise, and it boggles Staff's simple mind. *shrug* Anyway, a new favourite, this vivid lip cream is $29.99. Oh wait -- I mean $2.99. Meet Essence Stay Matt Lip Cream in Smooth Berry.
essence stay matt lip cream
Smooth, softly matte and loaded with pigment, Essence Stay Matt Lip Cream ($2.99 at Shoppers Drug Mart) is really comfortable on lips. Nope, not drying.
A little goes a long way, though. An generous application = mess. Smooth lips and precision at the lipline are key (read: not back-of-the-cab application friendly), and if you're prone to lip-colour bleeding, you'll need one of these solutions to keep lip colour in line.
This is the same Essence Stay Matt Lip Cream in Smooth Berry an hour after application. It's just a little softer, a little more matte, and just as comfortable as it was when I put it on.
If you've tried Essence Stay Matt Lip Cream and you've tried Rimmel London Apocalips Lip Lacquer (another new favourite, $8.49 at well.ca), you know the texture and colour payoff are similar although Apocalips has more shine. If you haven't tried either, you need to test drive at least one. Actually, I'd say both. Your wallet won't feel it, even if you buy them on the same day.
New shade for Spring 2014: Soft Nude. Less fun for me to photograph, but totally on-trend with all the nude-lip releases for the season.
Have you tried Essence Stay Matt Lip Cream yet? Am I the only one bothered by the lack of an "e" on the end of Matt?
