If you remember a time when Shu Uemura was practically impossible to get in Canada, you remember the happy dance you did at the news of its purchase by L'Oréal in 2004. You also remember the squeeeeee! you might have uttered when Shu launched at Holt Renfrew in Vancouver in 2007 and Yorkdale after that, and when it landed at Holt's on Bloor in 2009, followed by Montreal in 2010. This Spring's debut of the ShuUemura.ca e-commerce site made the brand available to anyone with a credit card, computer and beauty addiction -- and come September, shoppers can welcome Shu Uemura at The Bay.
The first new-concept counter space will hit Vancouver first; the Yorkdale and Queen St. locations will open in October.
In fact, The Bay is in the midst of fancying-up its cosmetics departments (you've noticed, right?). Here's what's coming from the L'Oréal group over the next little while:
This shiny new Lancôme environment made its bow at Yorkdale a couple of weeks ago; watch for it in Montreal in August and Vancouver in September.
YSL Beauty has also already opened at The Bay Yorkdale; Montreal, Toronto Queen St. and Vancouver to follow.
Viktor & Rolf devotees (we're looking at you, Jess) will want to move right into this blushing Yorkdale space, the first V&R fragrance-boutique in-store concept in Canada. It opened last month; to celebrate, each purchase of a full-size bottle of Flowerbomb nets you a sample-size shower gel and body lotion.
Happy beauty shopping, lovelies!
