The Whimsy: The Lancôme Show by Alber Elbaz Makeup Collection, Video Tease 1
This is Alber Elbaz, the playful creative director of the fashion house Lanvin.
He's dressed many an A-lister for red-carpet appearances.

Emma Stone in Lanvin (another of her favourite red-carpet looks) at the 2012 Golden Globes.
Claire Danes in Lanvin (she's camouflaging her baby bump here) at the 2012 Emmy Awards.
Natalie Portman in Lanvin (*swoon*) at the 2005 Academy Awards.
Alber Elbaz likes to draw (his mum was a painter, dad a hair colourist). When he was a kid of seven or eight, he sketched what his teacher wore each day and gave her his sketchbook when the year ended. Best. Gift. Ever.
Now Elbaz has turned his artistry to dressing a limited-edition selection of makeup. The Lancôme Show by Alber Elbaz collection focuses on the eyes (this interview on Elle.com explains why) and features mascaras, eye shadow palettes, and the most delightful lashes (covet, covet, covet), a long-awaited first from the brand. The palettes and mascaras are pre-existing shades; it's all about the designer outfits.
To celebrate the launch of Lancôme Show by Alber Elbaz, Elbaz drew a series of sketches which became a little movie. (Animating the designer's sketches took six months.) A sneak peek went live in January (see it here), and set the scene: a much anticipated fashion show, with an eager audience of fluttery-lashed, doll-eyed attendees. Three more teasers will lead up to the video's unveiling on June 3rd. The first is below:
The second teaser goes live on the 29th. Stay tuned.
The limited-edition Lancôme Show by Alber Elbaz collection hits counters at The Bay, Sephora, Holt Renfrew, Shoppers Drug Mart and lancome.ca at the end of June. The adorable lashes are exclusive to select locations of The Bay.
