How much do I love beautygeek Liza Herz? These photos! They're so fun, and they're all about a hairspray I understand. I mean, I get the allure of hairspray that brushes out easily without white flakies, especially when on set for a photoshoot and the model's hair has to assume more than one style in a day. But in real life, hairspray that brushes out in a snap makes no sense to me. I need hold that lasts for a good chunk of the day, even if I put my hands through my hair more than once.
Samy Fat Hair 0 Calories Amplifying Hair Spray ($11.99 at Shoppers Drug Mart), which has been around for several years, is weirdly awesome. It delivers incredible hold without white residue, and although it can leave hair feeling a bit sticky with a side of slightly crunchy (the hold is worth it), it doesn't flake out on black-clad shoulders. And you can brush it out cleanly, despite its awesome hold.
In the opening photo, Miami-based celeb hairstylist Samy has just had our Liza flip her head forward for a generous all-over spray from about 10-inches away, then flip back. In the photo above, Liza's hair is simply holding position as Samy has some hairspray-demo fun.
A few scrunches later to shape her style, and Liza smply has great volume. (And it lasted for hours, despite a windy walk to a preview after this one.)
I use Samy Fat Hair 0 Calorie Amplifying Hair Spray for an all-day volume boost on day two after a blowout. And it's great for adding texture so I can throw my hair in a looser bun that doesn't make me look like I'm a rejected synchronized swimmer. In fact, it's perhaps the only tin of hairspray I've ever used up completely; time for a new one.
Have you ever tried Samy Fat Hair hair spray? What's your go-to for great all-day hold?
