F is for Fourth Wall: At Ladera Resort in St. Lucia with Aveeno Active Naturals
My bedroom is missing a wall. My temporary bedroom. But to make up for it, it has a little 4-foot-deep pool -- on the edge of a precipice.
See that dark openness? Precipice. Vegetation. Very vocal crickets and other chirping night sounds not often heard in mid-town Toronto during a deep freeze. Probably not in the summer, either.
I'm in St. Lucia, at the Ladera Resort with a group of Canadian beauty journalists and a communications team from Aveeno Active Naturals. We'll learn about some upcoming 2012 launches in the next couple of days. In the meantime, I'm stoked about the Invigorating Body Wash in Grapefruit + Rosemary I found in my room. And the Hydrosport Sunblock Spray, which has the same technology as Neutrogena Wet Skin spray sunscreen -- it slams through water to adhere firmly to skin.
I'm also without a doubt going to make use of that not-Aveeno bottle of "Bug Out" bug spray. I hope not to need the Benadryl Itch Relief with 2% dyphenydramine hydrochloride and 0.1% zinc acetate. (I brought the bit of Target 1% hydrocortisone cream I have left from my Dominican Republic no-see-ums encounter -- hope I don't need that either.)
This is the shower, by the way.
I'm a bit wired, so I'm not sure how I'll sleep tonight in my three-wall room. But I'm looking forward to seeing this place in the sunshine.
Have any of you been to St. Lucia? Are you charmed at the thought of a room open to the tropical night air?
