The Boss doesn't usually talk about wedding shows, but who cares? Today I will, because I think Toronto's newest, the Wedluxe Wedding Show at the swanky new Ritz-Carlton Hotel, is a good one to hit for two reasons:
1) Makeup artist Jackie Gideon has been in the beauty industry for ages. She's worked for top magazines, including Elle, InStyle and Cosmo, and made up famous faces including Julia Roberts, Shalom Harlow, Andie McDowell and Celine Dion. Now Gideon, a contributing producer at Wedluxe Magazine, has her own boutique space (above) for bridal beauty at The Ritz-Carlton. That's a great convenience for anyone getting married at that hotel, but she and her team are available for weddings elsewhere as well.
2) Wedding planner Wendy Lee of Asian Fusion Weddings has spent the last 10 years bringing families together. Over the course of her career, more and more clients have required her special talent for successfully melding wedding traditions from different cultures. A pro at making every event unique for each couple (such as clients Natalie and Rick, above), she's been known to source special items from overseas if she can't find them here at home. If you need someone who is sensitive to family dynamics as well as traditions, and a savvy co-ordinator and deal-maker who knows the wedding business inside and out, Wendy Lee is your woman.
The Wedluxe Show is set for Sunday January 8th; visit wedluxe.com for info.
Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials, by the way!
