Mini Me: Heidi Klum's Eye Makeup Secret
I love Heidi Klum's makeup here -- this photograph by George Pimentel is from her recent visit to Toronto to talk up her new fragrance, Heidi Klum Shine. I love it even more now that I know her eye makeup secret.
"It's a lot of lashes, top and bottom," said makeup artist Linda Hay, who has worked with Klum for years. "And the tiny little minis on the bottom are always really, really cool. They're amazing, a little known gem. For some reason they're a big secret -- I don't know why -- it looks so pretty. She has nothing on there except for these lashes."
Hay told me she uses Ardell Flare Mini lashes, which don't seem to be available in Canada.MAC 30 Lash ($18, maccosmetics.com) and the new Benefit Going Solo Lash ($18, Shoppers Drug Mart), however, both include similar tiny lashes that would do the trick nicely. (Yep, Benefit has false lashes in their lineup now.)
I actually happen to have a bunch of Ardell Mini Lashes, which I picked up on a whim at a beauty supply shop in Buffalo on a Target run. A lower-lashline application hadn't occurred to me -- I have zero lower lashes to blend in. But I've still got to try this.
Would you wear false lashes along your lower lid? Maybe for a holiday party?
