You might have been busy last week. So you might have missed some interesting red-carpet celebrity chats Beautygeeks had on behalf of L'Oréal Paris at TIFF 2011:
Friends with Kids -- Kristen Wiig, Jon Hamm, Megan Fox, Adam Scott
Kristen Wiig was not at TIFF. But we happily spoke with a few other cast members, such as... Adam Scott, for whom I'll always have a soft spot because he played along so well with my grooming and skincare questions on the red carpet.
Jon Hamm -- *swoon* -- admitted his natural leaning is a less-than-groomed appearance, and that he hates his hair: "it's always doing something it shouldn't." And yup, I told him he's a very handsome man.
Brian Austin Green accompanied wife Megan Fox along the red carpet, so we got him involved. When he admitted to having been "wifed" into using good skincare, I asked him what his weirdest beauty experience was, and bless him, he told us. As for Megan, she outed Brian as not so manly, expressed a preference for organic products whenever possible (and in the background you'll hear her PR rep mention a certain beauty brand of whom Fox is the face), and said she hates getting ready for the red carpet. See the Adam Scott, Jon Hamm, Brian Austin Green and Megan Fox video here.
Trishna-- Freida Pinto
Freida Pinto glows in person. She's seriously lovely. And her voice -- I joke a lot that I only want a GPS system if Clive Owen offers his voice, but Freida would be a brilliantly calming GPS instructor. A L'Oréal Paris ambassador, she gave us a thoughtful answer to whether any beauty trends from India might land in North America. See the Freida Pinto video here.
The Deep Blue Sea -- Rachel Weisz, Tom Hiddleston
Director Terence Davies is a passionate, entertaining speaker! You might not know Tom Hiddleston (he caught my attention as Loki in Thor, a not-great film I watched on the way back from France), but he's dreamy if you're staring into his eyes as he answers your questions. (He brought his wife to the premiere.) And Rachel Weisz, also a L'Oréal Paris ambassador, is a commanding presence. I asked her how passion affects appearance -- she's married to Daniel Craig, so she should know. Right? See the Terence Davies, Tom Hiddleston and Rachel Weisz video here.
W.E. -- Madonna, Abbie Cornish
I know in my heart that time was the key factor in how Madonna answered my query about how she manages to look so young. If we'd had, say, 10 minutes together, for certain she would have given up all the details. Perhaps I should have asked her hair and makeup team? See the Abbie Cornish and Madonna video here.
The Oranges -- Hugh Laurie, Allison Janney, Oliver Platt, Leighton Meester, Sam Rosen
Hugh Laurie was unwell and skipped The Oranges press conference the next morning. But the rest of the cast, including Oliver Platt and Allison Janney, was wonderfully entertaining on the red carpet as they reacted to the news that Hugh is a L'Oréal Paris spokesman.
"Sonofabitch!" blurted actress Alia Shawkat (Arrested Development, Whip It) when I told her. "I'm going to give him shit," she added. Thus she was edited out of the video. See Hugh Laurie's The Oranges castmate reactions on video here.
As for Leighton Meester, here she talks to Beautygeeks about her role opposite Hugh Laurie in The Oranges, "a delicate subject, because I know a lot of people wouldn't understand."
Hysteria -- Maggie Gyllenhaal, Hugh Dancy, Jonathan Pryce
When you're on the red carpet for a film about the invention of the vibrator, lots of different questions come up. Watch the video to find out which ones made the cut, and to hear what answers came up. Maggie's co-star Hugh Dancy? A very handsome man.
So who's my favourite interview out of all these? Well, I have more than one (typical). Hello, Jon Hamm. Adam Scott, so nice. Brian Austin Green -- best story ever. And The Oranges cast -- that was so much fun.
What's your take? Did any of these celebs surprise you with their answers?
