Doll Parts: How to Make Your Eyes Look Bigger, Rounder, Doll-Like
Maybe this oddly ethereal look on model Emily Fox (Nam Model Management) is a titch much for the office, or a first, second or eighth date. But elements of this beautiful "princess voodoo-doll" makeup from last night's Greta Constantine Spring/Summer 2011 runway show can certainly be adapted for non-runway wear.
MAC senior artist Melissa Gibson, who designed the look for show, took her inspiration from a copy of Haute Doll magazine (above). Rather than execute a literal translation, she concentrated on "fantastic skin, the idea of a contoured eye that has a very rounded look to it, and a lived-in look" for lips.
"The dolls are imperfect, freaky-cute," she says. "That said, I didn't want to do freaky. I wanted to do something that was going to translate into the girls looking kind of fresh and really beautiful." (Above: model Joanna/Elite)
