An emergency run to the CVS in Cincinnati, Ohio last week was dangerous. I couldn't resist a quick lipstick purchase. We don't see the brand much in Canada unless we're poking about in a dollar store, so I thought I'd try Wet 'n' Wild Mega Last Lipstick in Smokin' Hot Pink, $2.99 USD.
The write-up on the WnW website promises a creamy texture and conditioning ingredients in a semi-matte finish. But while the finish is right, the formula doesn't quite hit it. A tad dry as it goes on, it feels a tad dry on lips too. Of course that means the colour (not as hot pink as the name implies) does last fairly well. I should have prepped with all-over liner first, though, for better, more even wear.
I'll likely wear it again, but perhaps over balm, or mixed with something else to intensify the shade. (See? The neutral-gloss addict is so gone! Plus I find I now compare every bold pink to my favourite YSL Rouge Volupté in Rose Culte -- which I switched to later that day.)
