Guerlain Aqua Allegoria fragrances 2010

I don't have a big thing for fragrance. But I can't get the current crop of Guerlain Aqua Allegoria perfumes ($58 each) out of my mind. The simply gorgeous bottles definitely factor in my obsession, but I've also fallen for one of the scents and have a wild crush on at least two others.

Mandarine Basilic is my favourite, the one I love best. Fresh and bright with mandarin orange and basil, it must. be. mine. I need it. Pamplelune is one of my crushes, a sparkling citrus with grapefruit and lemon that makes me happy, but isn't quite right with my chemistry (sounds a bit like a not-quite-right relationship, doesn't it?). I'm considering it anyway because I'm not above spritzing my clothing in order to wear it.

Flora Nymphea, the new fragrance in the range, is lushly floral with lilac, orange blossom and honey. Herba Fresca, another crush, is wonderfully green and grassy with a hint of mint (hello, summertime!), and Tiare Mimosa is a youthful floral composed of gardenia and mimosa.

Someone's buying herself a treat soon. Or two.

Available at Guerlain boutiques, Holt Renfrew, Ogilvy, Murale, The Bay, Sears, Shoppers Drug Mart and Sephora.
