If I Were Skinny I Would Wear That: Sonia Rykiel for H&M Lingerie
Seriously. If I were slender and fit, I would wear every single item from H&M's newest collaboration, gorgeous underthings from celebrated designer Sonia Rykiel. And I would stand around looking all "oh, am I showing off in my underoos?" just like these models in Rykiel's retro-sexy, blush-nude take on what would be grandma underwear in lesser hands and on lesser figures. No porn-star underwear here.
Can't neglect a girl's darker side either -- sometimes we just wanna vamp. In black lingerie. And God help the unprepared male.
The Sonia Rykiel pour H&M lingerie collection made a glitzy splash in an enchanted-forest fashion show at the Grand Palais in Paris last night. More than 2,000 fashion-insider and celebrity guests included Jean Paul Gaultier, Kate Bosworth, Eva Herzigova, Emanuelle Béart, Nadja Auerman and Tim Blanks, all of whom soaked up the je ne sais quoi under a made-for-the-occasion Eiffel Tower recreation. (Bai Ling was there, too -- it's hard to refer to her without writing "kooky Bai Ling," so I wasn't going to mention her. Oops.)
Come December 5th, the lingerie hits Canadian H&M stores at the Eaton Centre, Yorkdale, Bloor St., Pacific Centre, West Edmonton Mall, Peel/St. Catherine, Rockland and Anjou. Pricing goes from $12.95 CAN for a string thong to $99 for a velvet gown. A Sonia Rykiel pour H&M knitwear collection launches in February; store distribution hasn't yet been decided, so stay tuned.
In the meantime I have some lifestyle revamping to take seriously.
