I know I'm not the only one who forgets sleep is as essential as a healthy eating plan and exercise in order to function at optimal levels. For some, though, forgetting sleep would be a luxury. And for a Canadian charity called Sleeping Children Around the World (SCAW), sleep is their mission: they provide poverty-stricken kids in developing countries with rest-promoting nighttime necessities.
SCAW bedkits each include a mat or mattress, pillow, sheet, blanket, mosquito net if necessary, clothes, towel and school supplies, and are given to needy children at no cost to them or their families. However, each bedkit has an actual cost of $35, which is entirely covered by donations from people like you and me.
Right now at Delineation Hair & Skin Essentials in Toronto, via a limited-edition soap from Consonant Body Organic Skin Care, we can assist the Sleeping Children cause. The entire $12 price of the new Help Somebody Soap will go to SCAW (and if you also spend $75 on Consonant products, you'll net yourself a free Jet Set Travel Kit, too, a value of $50).
Along with SCAW representatives, Consonant Body's founder Bill Baker will be at Delineation tomorrow, Friday and Saturday to talk about why he started the line (his skin made him do it), offer Consonant demos and share more information about the charity he's chosen to help and why. For details and more special offers, stop by the boutique at 2409 Yonge St. on
- Thursday November 19th from 5 to 8 pm,
- Friday November 20th from 4 to 7 pm, or
- Saturday November 21st from 11 am to 4pm
And sleep well.
