F is for Fashion Editor: Glow Magazine's Vanessa Taylor Shares her Shopping List

I've always admired Vanessa Taylor's style: chic, feminine, a little flirty and fun. A nice mix, yes? Covetable. She's gorgeous, too. (Staff's a little sick with envy.)

Other folks like her style plenty -- Vanessa is Glow Magazine's style editor. In a clever ruse to copy her personal style outright, I asked about her own must-haves for the season. To conceal my selfish reasons I, er, said I was going to share with you. So here are Vanessa's top Fall-fashion picks.

This season I’m into a mash-up of styles—a bit of glam (you can never really have too much sparkle), a bit of grunge (Eddie Vedder circa 1996) and a bit of ’80s for good measure. Here’s what I’ll be living in all winter long:

A bold shoulder Don’t confuse a little height with the dreaded football shoulders -- this look is pretty (and powerful). H&M did loads of great versions with puffed sleeves on oversized sweaters and crisp white shirts.
H&M blouse, $99

Sequins for day I’m a bit of a sucker for anything with shine, so this look is one of my favourites. I love the idea of wearing a typically "night time" look for day.
Winners sequinned cardigan, $80

The lived-in plaid shirt I’m not sure if I love these shirts because they remind me of some of my favourite ’90’s bands (Pearl Jam and Soundgarden) or because they're just so damn comfy. Either way, you’ll never take them off.
William Rast shirt, $200 at Holt Renfrew

The high boot Even though Pretty Woman is a personal fave, I definitely don’t want to be mistaken for a workin’ girl. My footwear of choice this season is a buttery-soft leather (skip the patent) or suede flat boot with a rounded toe. You can wear them with skinny jeans or dark leggings.
Browns BROWNS COUTURE boots, $398

The New Earring For jewellery this season, I’ve been on the hunt for button-style earrings. You can find lots of beautiful ornate vintage styles, but these gold discs are perfect for everyday and a nod to the 80’s trend.
Jenny Bird glam petals earrings, $75 at

Oh sheesh. Maybe I should've gone shopping before giving up the scoop on Vanessa's list. Wonder if I can bribe the staff to run out to pick these things up for me? (Bet she'll tell me the earrings don't come in my size.)
