No, I don't have a photo with Avril Lavigne. She's itsybitsywee, has skin as perfect as it looks in the photo, and is a naturally-collagen-rich 24. No way I have a photo with my ole lumbering self standing next to her. Plus, when there's a scrum of media types with cameras and microphones trying to get at your potential photo subject and you're on official biz for a publication other than your own website, muscling in with "hey, Avril, can I take a buddy photo?" doesn't seem like a good plan.
Also, I have a wicked breakout I'd like to blame on not enough sleep (again).
Lavigne was in downtown Toronto on Monday for the Canadian launch of her clothing line, Abbey Dawn, at Boathouse, a Canadian retail chain stocked with casual gear for the 12 to 30 set. Hubby Deryck Whibley was there, too, hanging out in the racks with a couple of family friends. Click here for deets on Avril, the line, Boathouse and the fans who were there.
Abbey Dawn is available in Canada exclusively at Boathouse; boathousestores.com. Image of Avril and Boathouse president Jamie Katzman courtesy of Boathouse.
