Sweet Lineup: Benefit Crescent Row

Benefit can always be counted on to hit high on the whimsy register. Their Crescent Row collection is an adorable trio of sweet scents ($45 CAN/$36 US each) in charming display boxes inspired by fancy Georgian row houses in Bath, England. Pop the lid up and flip out the front panel to reveal little bottles in room vignettes designed to correspond with the personality of each fragrance.

Laugh with me LeeLee is the lightest, a floral-woody that smells mostly floral with citrus, jasmine and lily as well as a touch of amber and sandalwood. Something about Sofia is an oriental-floral, less cloying than I expected, but still sugary with fruit, flowers and vanilla. The sexy number of the three, My Place or Yours Gina, is a woody-oriental with pink pepper, raspberry, patchouli and vanilla, yet has an innocent air, like it's a good girl's night-out choice.

My body chemistry won't play nice with any of these, but I can still enjoy the quirky names, pretty boxes and cocktail-shaker flacons (flacons is maybe too fancy a term for these dolly-style eaux de toilette, but who cares?). Yep, that's my way of saying the staff isn't getting them.

Benefit is available at Holt Renfrew, Shoppers Drug Mart Beauty Boutiques, Sephora and sephora.com. Image courtesy of Benefit Cosmetics.
