Aw heck. I want them all.
What is it about CARGO that inspires cosmetic gluttony? Here, I'll tell you: colour, texture, variety, clever packaging, ingenuity. That the line is Canadian is a nice little bonus -- we can brag shamelessly, which of course is something Canucks do with such ease. *grin*
Whether you're a neutrals girl or into playful brights, you, too, will be tempted by CARGO's eight Colour Eye Shadow Palettes ($28). They're so pretty and so wearable -- every silky colour will look great on almost all skin tones. As for the packaging, each compact features different artwork by Canadian Cassie Zhen in hues to reflect the shadows inside.
The Wet/Dry Eyelining Palette ($32) is a slender, business-card sized case of eight shades of powder liner from matte, to shimmery to sparkly that you can use with any other eye shadow. Use a damp angle brush to create a vibrant sweep of liner, or go for a softly smudged effect with a dry angle brush.
Then there are the CARGO Essential Eyeshadow Palettes ($32), available in combinations for warm neutral tones, cool neutral tones, and dark neutral tones. These are not the first embossed with "where-to-put-it" words (Maybelline New York did it a couple of years back), but why quibble? If you see yourself as application-challenged the Essential palettes may make you feel a little safer, a bit more capable. And of course you can be creative, apply one or two rather than all four, and combine them with a shadow liner or bright colour.
What, too many palette choices? Pshaw. Take the easy route. Get a whole bunch.
CARGO Cosmetics is available at The Bay and Sephora; the Colour Eyeshadow Palettes are exclusive to Sephora.
