I'm not usually a fan of stick lip balm, but The Body Shop Shea Lip Care Stick is different.
First, it's highly emolliant, rich with shea butter and vitamins A and E. It feels like a balm, not like wax, goes on smoothly and leaves lips soft and youthful with a hint of sheen.
Second, the shea butter in the balm is a community-trade product that provides fair wages to more than 400 women from the Tungteiya Shea Butter Association in northern Ghana.
Third, the balm is one of two offered in a special-edition "For Me, For You" Shea Lip Care Duo -- one for you and one for a friend -- in support of The Body Shop's Stop Violence in the Home Campaign. Research by The Body Shop indicates that 67% of Canadian women say if they were victims of domestic violence, they would tell a friend rather than family or the police. The "For Me, For You" Duo celebrates the power of friendship between women, and as part of the campaign contributes to The Canadian Women's Foundation, a national public organization for women and girls. Available now, the duo retails at $15, about $9 of which helps the foundation in its efforts for women affected by domestic violence.
