Happy New Year! So. Resolutions. I don’t know about yours, but mine are the same resolutions I seem to make every few days: get to appointments on time, use the TTC more and taxis less, cook good-for-me foods and cut back on take-out or delivery, drink more water, get more sleep, up my fitness factor, [...]

The Write Stuff: Botanical Paperworks Handmade Plantable Paper Journals

21 December 2009

I’ve fallen in love with a notebook. I’m sweet on a lovely string-closure softcover recycled-paper type from Botanical Paperworks, a Winnipeg-based company. The 150-page (lined), 4.75 x 8.5″ journal ($24) has a nubby wildflower-seeded cover almost too pretty to plant.

Helping Palm: Lush Palm-Free Soap Helps Indonesian Rainforests and Orangutans

12 August 2009

You know from palm oil. High in saturated fat, it’s in certain cooking oils, soap products and processed food.
