Jergens Moisturizer for Wet Skin: I love it. And I use it on dry skin, too.

On this side of the computer screen, summer's got about five minutes left on the clock. It's time to pay closer attention to body care so our skin doesn't notice the humidity deficit as much when the temperatures drop. The Lipstick League is on it of course; this week they want to know: what's your favourite body moisturizer?

Months ago I geeked out about Jergens Moisturizer for Wet Skin ($10.99 at drugstores in Canada and $7.99 at ulta.com). I'm still geeking out about it – I love it. I use it every day. And sometimes I apply it long after I've towelled off. Yup, sometimes I apply Jergens Moisturizer for Wet Skin on dry skin. It gives my skin a fresh version of having applied a light oil right after a shower.

In fact Jergens Wet Skin is better than applying oil on dry skin – and I'm talking parched skin that isn't just out of the tub, or hasn't just been misted with water. Oil has no H20 in it to provide hydration; although I love oil, I don't like how it feels on desperately thirsty skin.

Jergens Moisturizer for Wet Skin isn't an oil, but it does contain water, which the skin quickly absorbs, and emollients that keep that water in the top layers of the epidermis. In the depths of icy winter, I may even layer it – apply it on wet skin, pat dry, then apply another layer. It'll be an experiment to explore the texture payoff; sometimes a body butter feels a bit too heavy or too thick.
