This speedy I Heart Blush makeup technique demonstrated by lovely Estee Lauder makeup pro Carly Wolk is yet another super-easy way to brighten your face in seconds. Highlighted bone structure, enhanced cheekbones, rosy cheeks – these are all achieveable via some of the tricks Carly has already detailed in our short tutorial videos. But this particular technique is, I think, more than just about makeup.

I'd recommend trying this I Heart Blush makeup move on a Monday, when the idea of dragging yourself to the office makes you hit snooze 17 times. Or when you wake up to yet another day of rain. Or you really just need something to amuse you a bit at the start of your day. Have a look:

See what I mean? How cute is this three-minute technique? I don't know about you, but if I've woken up cranky, I can't draw a heart on my face and maintain the grumps. This is a makeup trick to enhance your mood. (I also think it's a lovely thing to tell your face in any way that you heart it.)

In the video, Carly starts with her trusty Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum. She follows with the Estee Lauder Brush-On Glow BB Highlighter to draw the heart on the skin, and Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Bronzer under the cheekbones. Finishing flush touch: Estee Lauder Pure Color Powder Blush in Electric Pink.

You can execute these moves using your favourite serum applied with a light touch over your foundation. If you let your fingers glide, your base should stay in place. (I suspect the more slip your serum has, the better your results will be.) Or tap your serum onto skin as you create the heart shape. (If you'd like a personal demo, book an appointment at your Estee Lauder counter – this how-to is part of their 3-minute makeup series.)

Either way, just think about how much fun it would be to apply the highlight part of this I Heart Blush trick in the back of an Uber taxi.

You gonna try? At home at least?
