Peppy Canadian singer Carly Rae Jepson has landed a pretty big beauty contract thanks to Burt’s Bees. The star, who just dropped her new single, “Tonight I’m Getting Over You,” is the first-ever celebrity face for the brand, specifically for güd, a playful line of 97%-natural bath and body products with super-fun, fruity fragrances.
Five colourfully packaged collections include shampoo, conditioner, body wash, body butter, hand soap etc. in scents such as Orange Petalooza, Pearanormal Activity and Red Ruby Groovy — and they smell amazing (I snuck a sniff when I visited the Burt’s Bees head office in North Carolina last October — more on that later).
Carly Rae has just shot her first ad campaign for güd; images will start showing up in May issues of your favourite beauty mags. One scene features the star dressed in a red bikini top and red tulle tutu, singing the shower. Carly says she’s a shower-singer in real life — and confesses that singing isn’t all she does while the water’s running. “I write a lot of music when I’m in the shower,” she says.
Sorry, Canada – güd times hit the States last year, but we have to wait until this coming Fall. Think you can hold out?
Hey, this Carly Rae’s first beauty contract, isn’t it? Are there other beauty contracts you think might be a good fit for her?
