Yep, another winning red-carpet smile, this time courtesy of Canadian actress Malin Ackerman at the Creative Arts Emmys. Anyway, I popped by Canada AM yesterday morning to chat with host Beverly Thomson about at-home teeth-whitening products that really work. In the clip below, we discuss peroxide facts and the best options for getting a whiter smile whether you’re a first-timer, a repeat whitener (maybe with an addiction), or looking for brightening solutions for sensitive teeth.
And the Bourjois Paris Smile Enhancing Gloss with Tooth-Brightening Effect Gel ($21 at Shoppers Drug Mart) is fun. I love the Raspberry shade; I’m wearing it in the clip. I don’t know for sure how much brightening the gel will deliver, but I feel as though it’s doing something — stay tuned.
Also: as I mentioned in yesterday’s post, the Reach Total Care Whitening Floss really is amazing. As gentle as my other favourite floss, Oral-B Glide, the Reach Total Care Whitening Floss has a bit of stretch as well as micro-grooves + baking soda to scrub away at stains between teeth. Using it is quite the satisfying experience that leaves teeth feeling really clean.
I added most of the following information to the clip, but if you don’t have a second to play the vid, here’s a list of what was on the Canada AM table:
Crest 3D White Whitestrips Intensive Professional Effects, $70, drugstores and grocery stores. Rembrandt Deeply White 2 Hr Whitening Kit, $27, Walmart, Shoppers Drug Mart, Loblaws. Tanda Pearl Ionic Teeth Whitening System, $195, The Bay. Arm & Hammer Spinbrush Pro Sensitive Battery Powered Toothbrush, $11, drugstores and mass retailers. Philips Sonicare DiamondClean electric toothbrush with counter-top charger and portable charging case, $229, Shoppers Drug Mart. Luster 1 Hour White with Accelerator Mouth Rinse, Super Whitening Gel and Activating Whitening Light, $60, Shoppers Drug Mart. Rembrandt Deeply White + Peroxide Mouthwash and Rembrandt Deeply White + Peroxide Toothpaste with fluoride, $7 each, Walmart and Loblaws. Listerine Whitening Plus Restoring Fluoride Rinse, $10, drugstores and mass retailers. Reach Total Care Whitening Floss, $5, drugstores. Bourjois Paris Smile Enhancing Gloss with Tooth-Brightening Effect Gel, $21, Shoppers Drug Mart
You can download the story in today’s print edition of The Kit here. (Might have to wait until tomorrow when it comes out in the Montreal Gazette.)
Where do you fall on the teeth-whitening scale? Compulsive, regular, occasional, too-sensitive, or *shrug*?

Picture this: years ago I am at the gas pump Parkside and Bloor. Early morning so packed with cars. I am filling my Jeep. I catch some guy staring at me. He is focused. He walks towards me. (Yeah Baby!) Stops arms-length away and says: Your teeth are so white! What do you use?
Errr… Crest Whitestrips.
Hang the head as I thought he was going to ask for my number. ( I was single at the time)
You couldn’t write a better tv ad. I want to play myself but Bradley Cooper play the guy…the ending would be a little different.
Or Ryan Gosling.
Amazing. I’d change the ending too, especially if Bradley Cooper or Ryan Gosling were playing a starring role. Or, how about them both?
Andrea, that story is awesome, lol.
Naddy – thank you. Gotta laugh to keep from crying…
Janine – both? why not! ;)
