F is for Fifty-Four: Madonna in her Truth or Dare Commercial

She’s 54. I don’t care what you say about Madonna, whether you like her music, her children’s books, or once invited people over to watch Swept Away on Crap Movie Night then had to apologize because none of you could get through it. At 54, she’s frolicking in bad-girl lingerie for an international TV spot to launch her first fragrance, which was inspired by her mother who died when Madonna was a child. Madonna = unique.

Hey, RP, when you mentioned your 53-year-old aunt is hotter than you are, did you mean Madonna? If you did, you got her age wrong.

Madonna’s fragrance, Truth or Dare, lands on Canadian shelves in May. Here’s what she says about it in the press materials:

“There is something primeval and mystical about the sense of smell. It connects us to memory, nostalgia and the ability to dream and fantasize.

I have always been obsessed by fragrance and for years wanted to create something personal that was an expression of me, but that other people could relate to as well. Something classical and timeless and yet modern.

My oldest memory of my mother is her perfume. I carry it with me everywhere. She always smelled like Gardenias and Tuberose. An intoxicating mixture. Feminine and mysterious.

I wanted to create this scent but with something fresh and new about it as well. Something honest and yet daring. Hence the name Truth or Dare.”

I only wonder what took her so long to create a fragrance. :)
