Pale dot mani_dot in Rimmel Lasting Finish Pro in Hard Metal

Laurie wants to have fun with her manicures -- bright shades, graphic nail art, maybe even sparkle -- but she's in an ultra-conservative work environment. She's understandably concerned that having attention-getting nails could undermine her professional appearance. So she sticks to pale shades and soft, modern French manicures (the non-porn kind *grin*).

Right now I'm wearing an unusually subdued-for-me soak-off gel colour (I'll explain in another post) -- it's a perfect opportunity to try something that might work for Laurie. Here, I've added metallic dots in Rimmel London Lasting Finish Pro nail lacquer in Hard Metal. Still playful, but quietly so.

I think more pronounced nude pink with a soft grey dot or a white dot could work too. Tip: use craft paint for your dots if you're dotting over regular nail polish. If you slip up, paint can be wiped off without messing up your shiny topcoat. Once dots are in place and dry, finish with another layer of topcoat.

What do you think? Would this raise brows in an buttoned-down workplace?

Rimmel London is available via drugstores and mass retailers. Base soak-off gel mani by Rita Remark/Tips Nail Bar & Spa.
