Got plans tonight? Plans that involve putting on a little makeup, doing your hair and spritzing a little sexy scent? Keep this word in mind for beauty this Valentine's Day: KISS. Keep it simple, sweetheart.

Exhibit A: Heidi Klum at last night's Grammy Awards. Volumizing mascara, white liner, peachy-pink cream blush and tinted lip balm or gloss: Romantic, yes? And focussing on your eyes -- your lashes, in this case -- lets you finish lips in a kissing-friendly sheen.

Smashbox Eye Beam Double Ended Brightener

On lids try a shimmery shadow duo such as Sephora Colorful Duo Eye Shadow in Golden Pink or Natural Brown. On the inner upper rim, Smashbox Jet Set waterproof gel liner in Midnight Black, and to brighten inner corners and line the lower waterline, Smashbox Eye Beam Double-Ended Brightener (Shoppers Drug Mart Beauty Boutiques and Sephora). On upper and lower lashes, try Armani Eyes to Kill Excess Mascara (at Holt Renfrew).

Make Up For Ever HD Blush

On cheeks, try Make Up For Ever HD Microfinish Blush in #6, 7 or 8. It blends like a light cream, but leaves a lasting finish like a stain. Tip from makeup super-pro Diana Carreiro via a comment on last week's cream-blush post: "Best way to ‘inner beauty’ glow? Cream blush under luminescent tinted moisturizer!" (Try Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20--Illuminating.)

Kiehls Lipbalm Coconut

On lips, if you have naturally rosy or pink lips, go for simple lip balm. In a comment on my recent winter-lips post, Lindsay of sometimesicing said her bf can't get enough of Kiehl's Lip Balm in Coconut -- try that! If you have pale lips, CoverGirl Wetslicks Amazemint gloss in Pink Positive gives a lick of sheer colour plus a minty flavour -- hello. I'd suggest C.O. Bigelow tinted Mentha Lip Shine, but it's super sticky -- maybe not the best for making out.

Heidi's soft ’do is a DO as well, touchable and casual enough that your fella won't fear mussing it up some more. Blowdry with a round brush to put a curve in the ends, gather in a low, loose roll at your nape (leave a few side pieces loose) and secure with hairpins and hairspray. Pull those side pieces back and hairpin into place over the roll. Give hair a final light spritz.

Happy Valentine's Day evening!
