Christina Hendricks, 2010 Emmy Awards

I may be all if-I-were-skinny-I-would-wear-that over Denis Gagnon collections, but some with much shapelier figures than mine have fashion frustrations too. Turns out most big-name designers aren't ready for Christina Hendricks' jelly, The Daily Mail reports. Getting a loaner red-carpet dress is next to impossible for the gloriously curved Hendricks, despite her star appeal. According to journalist Liz Jones, designers Elie Saab and Marc Jacobs both said no to dressing the actress because they only carry sample sizes zero to two.

Zac Posen designed Hendricks' lilac Emmy dress this year. But leading up to that, writes Jones, designers Elie Saab and Marc Jacobs both said no to dressing the actress because their sample sizing goes only from zero to two. Jones also recounts an incident from her days as editor of Marie Claire: a shoot with the beautiful Liv Tyler, the IT Girl of the time and a size 12, had to be cancelled because no designers could provide clothing for the shoot. "She will spoil the line," a designer told Jones.

Designer duds indeed. Get the full-figured story at The Daily Mail, and, just for fun, weigh in on the dress at Go Fug Yourself (I love the Fug girls).
