Damn. Winter isn't over. These days seem either to be wicked cold, wicked snowy or wicked damp-and-cold. A bright spot? Airplus Aloe Infused Ultra Moisturizing Socks ($6.99), which come in pink, blue and purple, solid, striped and polka-dotted. One recent cranky morning (the Staff is a bad influence), I spotted a blue pair in my drawer and thought, "hey, maybe those'll make me feel better." And yup, those soft, aloe-infused blue fuzzy socks kicked the blues away quite nicely, and my feet said, "hey, good thinking," too.
Sure, maybe wearing them with my boots wasn't a great idea -- I left blue fuzzies all over my power-plate trainer's spotless private studio à la that "Star Trek" episode, The Trouble with Tribbles, and found more when I went to put my boots on again the next day. But my feet felt wonderfully coddled, cosy and comfy, and yes, moisturized, and wearing them around the house with slippers is a bit of a treat (less fuzzy but still soft after a few sock-washes).
So now I have this to say to persistently wintery days: Fuzz off.
