Glove Love: Hand Dry Hair Glove for Curly and Wavy Hair

Hand Dry Hair Glove $24.95 per pairCanada’s hair guru Michael Victor and his wife Patti Coyne, of Delineation Hair & Skin Essentials in Toronto, are giving curly-haired folk a helping hand. A big, fluffy, soft, super-absorbent, muppety microfibre hand.

Patti’s brainchild, the Hand Dry Hair Glove ($24.95 CAN per pair) subs in for a regular towel after you’ve washed your hair, allowing much more effective use of your hands and better styling control. Distribute curl or wave-enhancing lotion or cream in damp hair as you would ordinarily, then slide a glove on and scrunch away. The microfibre fabric quickly sucks water molecules up (not styling product), helping to set curls as you shape them, and it smooths the hair cuticle at the same time to reduce frizz and increase shine. You can add volume, too, simply by scrunching and holding damp hair at the crown to absorb the moisture at the roots. Plus, using a glove while blowdrying with a diffuser will cut your drying time and help keep frizzies away.

The Hand Dry Hair Glove would also make a great stocking stuffer for dog owners, who might like a pair to help dry Fido off after his bathtime. According to Michael, many a Delineation patron has reported smoother, shinier pet coats as well as smoother shinier hair. Click here to see a video on how to use it (on your own hair, not your pet).

The Hand Dry Hair Glove is available at Delineation.ca.

Heehee…had to chuckle at this one, because they initially looked like Grover’s hands (from Sesame Street). Love Delineation though, they carry good products, I’ve made a few purchases there in the past.

Yep… muppety! *grin* But effective — I get such nice wave’n'curl shape with them. Scrunch and hold, scrunch and hold.

I must have this glove in my life. This fuzzy curl-enhancing beast. Thank you for pointing it out! And why is it always snowing on your site? With gobs of admiration and gratitude from your Brooklyn Fan Club Leader, Carla

It’s festive snow!

I suspect the gloves are accessible to you via naturallycurly.com, their shopping arm (no pun intended) curlmart.com :-)

yes, I did think of Sesame Street and the many generous hands of the muppets
aren’t you lucky you don’t have to shovel the snow on your site?

Janine, I must have these! I love the idea of cutting down the drying time on my curly do, especially because my hair’s only natural dry setting is frizz. Can’t wait to try it! (I wonder if there’s time to tell Santa…?)

Something tells me you have a direct line to Santa, or at least to a head elf… *grin* xoxo

This sounds like a cool product … would it worthwhile for wavy hair??

I was curious…Do you have a patent on this glove? How did you come up with it?
Thanks

Hi Catherine,

The Hand Dry Hair Glove is a product designed and produced by the owners of Delineation, a local beauty boutique and salon. If you click on the word “brainchild” in the above post, it’ll lead you to the story on how Patti Coyne conceived and developed the concept. Or you could click HERE. :-) And click HERE to reach Delineation.ca, which will give you direct contact information.

How do we clean them? What detergent should and washing instructions to keep them looking good and clean?

Now that’s a brilliant question, Kiesha. I think washing them by hand with a gentle washing powder for delicates is a good way to go, but I’ll check with Patti Coyne, the creator!

Hi Kiesha — here’s what Patti said:

“They can be added to the regular wash, just not the whites if you add bleach. They will only be damp at the end of the spin cycle; I just hang them on a line in my laundry area but you could leave them over night to dry on any surface that is ok with dampness. You could hand wash them if you prefer.”
