Makeup by Michelle Rosen

I do love a clear makeup-instruction video, particularly when the demonstration is by a top Canadian pro artist. I've not had the pleasure of working with Michelle Rosen, but I've long been familiar with her excellent work. Here, in a Chatelaine.com video, she walks us through easy steps for a clean, pretty, everyday look.

Michelle's eye liner application, one of my fave approaches actually, delivers soft, stay-put definition sans need for smudging (you'll see). I'd use a waterproof pencil such as a GOSH Velvet Touch Waterproof type, or my new love (I still love you GOSH, but I like options), Make Up Forever's fantastic Aqua Eyes ($19 CAN/$17 US), a creamy combo of super-waterproof shadow and liner. Confession: Glow Magazine's beauty editor Jill Dunn, whose lids are oilier than mine (sorry for outing you, Jill!), has been raving about Make Up Forever's pencils for ages. I tried them only recently -- and have been raving to folks about them, too, ever since.

I love this look for pretty much anyone. It's a classic, youthful look, and but for the foundation brush, I can do it in the back of a moving cab. *grin*

Visit Chatelaine.com for more stuff, Shoppers Drug Mart for GOSH, and your local Sephora store for Make Up Forever.
