My nails still smell like coconut dessert. If you know me, you know that isn’t really a good thing because I only like dessert scents while I eat dessert. But if you like gourmand-esque olfactory flavouring, I can at least tell you the fragrance in Revlon’s limited-edition Fruitful Temptations Scented Nail Enamel ($5.95 each) lasts more than 24 hours after it dries.
Available in eight shades — Passionate Fruit, Sublime Strawberry, Raspberry Rapture, Pretty Papaya, Not So Blue-Berry, Mad About Mango, Mon Cherry and Coconut Crush — the polish is the beauty version of those smelly markers we loved as kids, a rewind to childhood and totally fun (yes, even though I don’t love the first scent I chose).
I confess, I didn’t make the connection to fruit-scented felt-tips — that came from E! Channel producer Ryan Emberley on the set of a summer-beauty segment shoot I was part of yesterday. I’d hoped to mention them on air, but we ran out of time (makeup artist Aniko Farkas did three hair-and-makeup looks for an under-two-minutes slot!). But you might spot them in a camera-pan of items on Friday at 7 pm on “E! Weekend.”
The scented-polish drawback? There’s something really weird and slightly gross about having folks smell your nails. Which reminds me, I’d better warn the staff not to do that. Anymore.

They really are fun! I hope they do a collection every summer. Actually we need fun like that in the winter!
As for the segment, I scare myself a little in the promo; posting it today or tomorrow. Yeek!
