Enter to WIN: Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Makeup for Your Eye Colour

by Janine on 29 June 2009 · 11 comments

I love the make-it-easy philosophy behind eye-colour-specific makeup collections. We have enough questions to answer in the morning — where’s my coffee, should I wear jeans or a skirt, do I need a sweater even though it’s @#%$ June, is Ryan Reynolds leaving Scarlett for me next week or the week after — without having to figure out what makeup gives our eyes maximum impact.

Physicians Formula understands. Their Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Shadow & Liner palettes ($15.79 CAN/$10.95 US) for blue, green, hazel and brown eyes offer nine co-ordinated shades, arranged in three consecutive trios selected to make your eye colour look its best. Wear the lighter and medium shades on their own as shimmery washes over your lids; the three darkest shades lend varying degrees of intensity as simple smudges of colour along the base of your lashlines. The palette packaging offers tips on how to apply each trio for day, play, and seriously-sexy-business, too.

BeautyGeeks is happy to help Physicians Formula lighten your brain’s morning stress with a present: two for-your-eyes-only palettes, one from the summer Bronze collection and one from the Smoky Eyes collection, plus a Physicians Formula Organic Wear Mascara (total retail value is just over $47 CAN). If you live in Canada and are a BeautyGeeks subscriber (click here to become a subscriber if you aren’t already), send an e.mail to imabeautygeek@gmail.com with SHIMMER STRIPS in the subject line (very important so your entry is filed correctly). In the body of the e.mail,  please include your name, age, EYE COLOUR, address and phone number. Last day to enter is Monday July 6th, 2009.

Of course if you win, you’ll have to ask yourself, which palette, which trio, which of these shades — but you’ll get over it. The answer is a breeze when you already know everything will look good on you. Just ask Ryan R next week. Or the week after.

Physicians Formula is available at drug and mass-market stores. Shown clockwise from top left, a Smoky Blue Eyes palette, Bronze Brown Eyes, Smoky Green Eyes, Bronze Hazel Eyes, and Organic Wear 100% Natural Origin Mascara. Images courtesy of Physicians Formula.

I’m sorry, Mouna — the contest ended quite some time ago. But do check back, others will crop up!

How old is your daughter, Stacey? She can actually use many of the same types of things you do, as long as they’re not anti-aging formulas (too much for young skin). Lots of what’s out there for young faces isn’t much different from grown-up stuff — marketing differentiates the lines, really. That said, some textures are more teen friendly, such as high shimmer, bold colour and sparkle. Skincare is also different, of course. Let’s talk!

She is almost 14 and does a really good job of not putting too much or using bad colors like we used to use that bright blue arghh that was awful, but her eyes get irrated easily so am always looking for new things that would not bother her skin
