I don't know who I am anymore. Another bold, bright lip colour? Yeah, the one in the middle there, an Estee Lauder Pure Color Gloss Stick in Pop Pink ($21 CAN/$18.50 US). Smooth, comfortable and un-sticky on lips, it hits all my I-like-it points, plus it's easy to apply with precision thanks to the slim tube.
Thing is, I like a natural look that fools people into thinking you have great skin and glowing eyes. I'm not really about what's-hot-now. But somewhere along the line, I dropped a kiss on this Spring's bright-lips trend and discovered hey, I can wear deliberate, bold colour and love how it looks.
More on Spring's makeup trends how-to here with DailyCandy.com and makeup artist Mike Potter, who seems to be known best for his makeup in Hedwig and the Angry Inch (worth seeing just to find out what the title means if you don't know). I decided to link because he's showing his trend techniques and picks -- including bright lipstick -- on non-model faces of varied cultural backgrounds.
